A Leavenworth man was arrested after he allegedly pointed a gun at his neighbor, a police spokesman said.

The incident was reported at 9:32 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Ottawa Street. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to a report that someone was waving a gun around and yelling. The suspect reportedly went inside his home before officers arrived, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, who indicated his neighbor had been upset and allegedly pointed a gun at him.

Nicodemus said the two neighbors reportedly have been disputing over various issues.

Officers took the 48-year-old suspect into custody for allegations of making a criminal threat and aggravated assault.

Police recovered a handgun that reportedly had been used during the incident, according to Nicodemus.
