The Lansing Board of Education has approved a negotiated agreement with teachers for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Lansing Board of Education has approved a negotiated agreement with teachers for the 2019-2020 school year.

The agreement, which will result in a pay raise for teachers, was approved during a special meeting Wednesday.

Lansing Superintendent Darrel Stufflebeam said teachers will receive a minimum pay increase of 3.5%, but some will receive up to a 4.5% increase.

The new base salary for teachers will be $40,173, according to information about the agreement that was prepared for school board members.

Stufflebeam said board members also approved a 3.5% pay increase for people who are classified employees. Classified employees include secretaries and lunchroom personnel.

Stufflebeam said the negotiated agreement and pay increases were unanimously approved.
