After failing to sell drugs, a man reportedly attacked another man in a robbery attempt, a Leavenworth police official said.

The incident was reported at 9:16 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Spruce Street.

The victim, a 56-year-old man, reported that the suspect tried to sell him drugs, but the victim declined. The suspect then reportedly punched the victim and tried to rob him. But the victim refused to give up his wallet, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The victim does not know the suspect.
