No injuries were reported after shots were fired Monday night at two Leavenworth apartments, a police spokesman said.

The incident was reported shortly before midnight in the 300 block of Kiowa Street. The Leavenworth Police Department received several reports of shots fired, according to Deputy Chief Dan Nicodemus.

Officers found nine empty shell casings at the scene.

“There was damage to both apartments,” Nicodemus said.

The two apartments were occupied at the time.

“No one was struck,” Nicodemus.

Police have no description of suspects.

Nicodemus said the residents of the apartments indicated they have no idea why shots were fired at their residences.
