Leavenworth officials announced Monday morning that all city facilities, including Leavenworth City Hall, are closed until further notice in an effort to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

People still can conduct business with city offices by phone, email or the internet.

The city's website can be found at www.leavenworthks.org.

According to city spokeswoman Melissa Bower, city officials are working to extend deadlines, accommodate special requests and continue services.

Leavenworth City Manager Paul Kramer said Monday morning that city officials are planning to still have meetings this week of the Board of Zoning Appeals and Leavenworth City Commission.

Kramer said chairs in the meeting room will be spaced apart to create greater than normal distances between people in attendance.
