Catherine Eleanor Collins died Saturday, August 20, 2016 surrounded by family. She was 91.   
Visitation will be at Davis Funeral Chapel, 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Celebration of Life will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Easton, Kansas, 11 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2016, 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.   
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Marie (Penney) Corbett, sisters Gladys, Marie and Lorraine Healey, and husband, William H. Collins.   
Kate is survived by her daughter, Sharon Wright of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and granddaughter Sarah; son, William Patrick of the home; son, Terry and wife Diane of Leavenworth, grandson Christopher and wife Randi, granddaughter Heather Nordquist and husband Matt; son, Alan and wife Cindy of Lansing, grandson Jason and grandson TJ and fiancé Cathrine Halvorsen; son, Joseph of Easton, grandsons Preston and Miles and granddaughter Porscha Archer and husband Russell; five great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends.  
Catherine (Kate) was born July 8, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York. Shortly after her birth her family returned home to Chapels Cove, Newfoundland where she grew up. Kate married William Collins in 1947 and made their home in Easton where they raised their five children.  She worked for U.S.D. 449 for 13 years and retired from Hallmark Cards in 1992. Kate was very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved family gatherings on holidays and Sundays.  She had a wit that would make everyone smile and was known for the many amusing old fashion adages that were always entertaining. She was a lifelong member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Altar Society Member and greatly enjoyed quilting with her friends in the Quilt Club.   Kate will be greatly missed!
