Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Corriston, 84, of Leavenworth, died, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at her home.
Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Corriston, 84, of Leavenworth, died, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at her home. She was born May 10, 1932, in Atchison, Kan., the daughter of Charles and Zetta (Sutlieff) Filbert.
On March 20, 1949, Betty married Joseph C. Corriston Jr., in Leavenworth, Kan. He survives at the home. She is also survived by a son, Joseph “Chuck” Corriston III; three daughters, Connie Freeman, Sherry Lewis and Paula Bledsoe; two sisters, Peg Meyer and Barb Main; three brothers, Don Filbert, Ed Filbert and Mike Filbert; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Margie Farrell; a brother, Tobi Filbert; a granddaughter, Jolene Abbott; and a great grandson, Carson McGlothin.
She worked at Hallmark Card and Miller Pharmacy. Betty retired from Fort Leavenworth and then worked at Walmart.
Betty loved golfing, bingo, watching her favorite sports and visiting Arizona. She loved her family and she enjoyed spending time with them.
Visitation beginning with praying the rosary will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, with Rev. Phillip Winkelbauer as celebrant. Cremation will follow the services. Memorials are suggested to Children’s Mercy, Shriner’s Hospital for Children or St. Luke’s Hospice.
