Leota Dalby Jones, 90, Leavenworth, Kansas passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Twin Oaks Assisted Living, Lansing, Kansas. Leota was born September 9, 1927 in Crystal Falls, Michigan the daughter of Robert and Bernice (Bottenfield) Morford.
On November 20, 1946 she married Herschel M. Dalby, he preceded her in death on January 18, 1968. She later married Alva R. Jones on January 4, 1970 he preceded her in death on June 17, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Leota leaves behind her two sons, Garry M. Dalby and wife Patricia, Arlington, Virginia, and Robin B. Dalby and wife Christine, Grosse Pointe, Michigan, three sisters, Louise Hay, Cleburne, Texas, Viola Green, Chatsworth, Georgia and Lorraine Parker, Stafford, Texas, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and step-daughter, Kay Ewert and husband Ron and step-daughter-in-law, Linda Burnham, Willow, Arkansas.
Leota was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church, Leavenworth, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the First Baptist Church, 13th and Osage, Leavenworth, Kansas. Funeral service will be held 9:30 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Fort Leavenworth, National Cemetery, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
