Marcella R. James, 'Marcy', 98, passed away Saturday, Apr. 21, 2018 at the Evergreen Community in Olathe, Kansas.

Marcella R. James, ‘Marcy’, 98, passed away Saturday, Apr. 21, 2018 at the Evergreen Community in Olathe, Kansas. Marcy was born Jan. 24, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Fred Tyberendt and Cora Cizek. Raised in St. Louis, St. Charles, Missouri and Carlyle, Illinois, she had been a resident of Leavenworth, Kansas for over 70 years. She was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and held local, state, and national offices, including serving as Grand Madam President. As part of her involvement there, she had the opportunity to travel extensively across the United States.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 26, 2018 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will commence at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Cape Rust, officiating. Burial will be immediately afterwards at Mt. Calvary cemetery.  
Marcy enjoyed going to dances, classical music and opera, Christmas, Pomeranian dogs, and bingo. She worked as an election judge for several years, and in the office at Alco. She was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
She is survived by son Rick Maiden and his wife Helen, grandson Derek Brady and his wife Lisa, grandchildren Eric Maiden-Murotake, Alex, Katie, and Nicole Miswell, and Laura and Brian Phelps, brother John Garrissine, late husband Howard James’s children from a previous marriage, Nancy, Gene, Michelle, Rebecca, and Lori.  
Preceeded in death by her husband, Howard James, her daughter Pamela Zobkiw and her husband Mike, and her grandson, Douglas Zobkiw.
