Dorothy N. Fleshman, age 94, of Lawton, died Friday, October 26th in Arlington, Texas.  Dorothy was born May 12, 1924 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Florence Martha and Hastings Ford. She married Col (Retired) William Howard Fleshman on October 29, 1949 in Leavenworth.  They were married for 53 years before his death on Veteran’s Day, 2002. Dorothy traveled the world with her husband, whom she supported 100% as an Army wife, including raising their family with and without him. Not only was Dorothy a devoted military wife and mother, she was also a volunteer for the USO during the war and worked at Ft. Leavenworth typing up soldiers’ indoctrination papers.  She later worked as a secretary at the Panama Canal.  She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Salvation Army Auxiliary, the Retired Officers Wives Club, and Mt. Scott Kiwanis.  She also taught Sunday School at Fort Sill for many years as well and was a longtime member of New Post Chapel.
