Dorothy Stubbs, Mesa, Arizona, born Nov. 7, 1929 in Leavenworth, Kansas, to parents Adolph Heitlinger and Anna Flora Heitlinger, passed away Nov. 5, 2018.
Dorothy Stubbs, Mesa, Arizona, born Nov. 7, 1929 in Leavenworth, Kansas, to parents Adolph Heitlinger and Anna Flora Heitlinger, passed away Nov. 5, 2018. Dorothy married Richard Ray Stubbs Aug. 14, 1949 who preceded her in death in 2007.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Stubbs (Jeanine), Rebecca Brenner (Joel), Richard Stubbs (Debbie), Daniel Stubbs (Julie), Russell Stubbs (Cindy), Doreen Stradling (Lester), Christopher Stubbs (Brenda), sisters, Regina Burton, Anita Samson, and brother, Gordon (Linda), brothers in-law, David Hattey and Lawrence Stubbs. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband: son, Randall; grandsons, Adam and great grandson, Daniel; sisters, Rita “E.T”, Mary Magdalen, Vivian “Tudy”, and Helen Marie.
After being part of the farming community near Easton, Kansas for 14 years, the family relocated to Mesa, Arizona in 1973 and she began her career with the Mesa Public School District. She retired as an administrative assistant after over 20 years of service.
Viewing is scheduled 4 to 6 p.m, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018 at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd, Mesa AZ 85202. A Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3201 S Evergreen Rd, Tempe, AZ 85282 9 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12, 2018.
Dorothy was a faithful member of the Resurrection Catholic Church and requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Resurrection Catholic Church Building Fund.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of her large family who were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed as the matriarch of our family.
