The Saw Dust King passed away to a better world on Nov. 13, 2018 in Danville, Pennsylvania, at the age of 70. He was buried at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Danville, Pennsylvania.
Formerly of Leavenworth, he was born in Pennsylvania to Daniel and Elizabeth (Betty) Ziegler Heddens. The family moved to Leavenworth when Tom was a teenager.
He went to Leavenworth High School, where he met Carolyn Cordt and they soon married after her graduation in 1969. They divorced in 1978. There were two children born of that union, Stacy and Thomas.
He went to work for Geiger Ready Mix and worked for them for over 25 years. He married Brenda Romaine in 1978, there was one child, Tamra, born from that union. They divorced in 1982.
He met Peggy Godding in 1982 and they married in 1984 and they were married until August 2002.
He enjoyed going to concerts, the Spirit fests in KC, going to Branson, riding motorcycles and loved the Silverstones group from Leavenworth. He also loved going to the Air Shows at the Richards Gebaur Air Force base. He loved to work out, to keep in shape.
His parents preceded him in death, along with former wife, Carolyn.
Tom loved his children and grandchildren and nieces and nephew. He is survived by brothers, Steve and Rob Heddens, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Luann Penly, Maryland and Debbie, Pennsylvania, his children, Stacy (Bill) Taggs, Thomas (Jennifer) Fryman and Tamra Heddens Enrquiz, granddaughter, Alyssa Taggs (Rob) and great-grandson, Aiden, a total of 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and former wife, Peggy Wheeler.
