William Roscoe Wallace, Jr., passed away peacefully, Dec. 10, 2018, at the Horton Community Hospital in Horton, Kansas, with two of his daughters at his side.

William Roscoe Wallace, Jr., passed away peacefully, Dec. 10, 2018, at the Horton Community Hospital in Horton, Kansas, with two of his daughters at his side. He was born April 19, 1931, in Princeton, Indiana to William R. and Elma J. (Brown) Wallace.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Davis) Corbet, his parents, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Bill attended Princeton High School in Princeton, Indiana, before joining the Navy in May 1949. He served aboard the USS Passumpsic.
He married Nannette Thompson July 12, 1952. They had five children, William R. III (Susanna) Wallace, Princeton, Indiana, Rachel (Gene) Gormley, Horton, Kansas, Jennifer (Barry) Russell, Platte City, Missouri, Debra Dunagan, Haskell, Oklahoma and Elma Wallace, Hiawatha, Kansas. He is also survived by a step-son, William A. (Ruby) Corbet, Sr., Leavenworth, Kansas.
Bill was a member of the First Christian Church in Leavenworth. He was also a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years where he held various offices and duties including Worthy President.
He loved helping in a variety of things for his family and friends. He was the M.C. at Veteran parades, played Santa plus other deeds for his community.
He is survived by six children, 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
Visitation was held from 10 to noon, Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home.
