Pale Lemanua, 72, Leavenworth, passed away, Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Pale Lemanua, 72, Leavenworth, passed away, Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was born Dec. 24, 1946, in Leone, American Samoa to Patelesio and Akenese Tuise’e. Pale was adopted by Filimino Lemanua Teofilo and Fa’alologo Sapa’u Teofilo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oliana Dole; a daughter, Dorcas Corena; his parents; three sisters, Ana Lemanua Hicks, Melesete Tuise’e Paau and Romona Patelesio Tuise’e; two brothers, Emanuele Patelesio Tuise’e and Pesamino Patelesio Tuise’e.
Pale is survived by his daughters, Marina and Kolotita Lemanua, Leavenworth, and Lemapu Lemanua, Hawaii; the children of his heart, Leuila and Piilani Alaimaleata, Korea, and Foti Hargrave, California; two brothers, Tomasi Patelesio Tuise’e, California and La’auli (Pita) Lemanua Teofilo, California; six sisters, Maulalo Tuise’e Pasefika, Utah, Romona Patelesio Tuise’e, California, Onolina Tuise’e Faletoi (Moeaga), California, Tuaula Faiai (Luamata), New Mexico, Fa’alologo Teofilo Stevens (Anthony), Nevada and Afatia Teofilo Leota (Fetapa’i), Nevada; many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, great great nephews and nieces who called him Uncle Papa or Papa.
Pale was employed at the American Samoa Police Department until 1974. Pale met his beloved wife, Oliana, at the Tafuna Pago Pago International Airport restaurant when he was taking a break as a Police Officer and she was his waitress, and they married on Feb. 15, 1968. Pale joined the United States Army in 1974 and retired as a SSG in 1994. He was then employed by the city of Leavenworth Housing Authority from 1994 to 2009 in the Maintenance department.  Since retirement, Pale enjoyed spending time with family and playing cards, traveling, routine grocery shopping at the Commissary and taking care of his lawn.  
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday May 30, 2019, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at noon Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
