The Reverend Donald Claussen Preisinger passed away peacefully on July 6, 2019 in San Diego, California.

The Reverend Donald Claussen Preisinger passed away peacefully on July 6, 2019 in San Diego, California.  
He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on Nov. 20, 1924, the son of the Rev. Arthur B. Preisinger and Lillian Claussen Preisinger. He married Evelyn Wehrs Preisinger June 20, 1948 and they remained married until her death in 1984. In May, 1985 he married Maryann Braun Preisinger, she survives in their home in San Diego.
Pastor Preisinger was preceded in death by his two brothers, Rev. David Preisinger and Rev. Arthur Preisinger. He was also pre-deceased by two sons, Matthew Preisinger (1957) and Rev. Paul Wehrs Preisinger (1999).
He is survived by his sister, Esther Preisinger Schoof, Millis, Massachusetts; his son, Mark (Joanne) Preisinger, Leavenworth; daughter-in-law, Michele Priess Preisinger, Bonner Springs, Kansas;  stepdaughters, Susan (Riley) Howard, Sunnyvale, California and Kristin (Jeff) Bales, Cody, Wyoming; four grandchildren, Paulette (Shannon) Blunt, Shawnee, Kansas; Michael (Raven) Preisinger, Overland Park, Kansas; Lindsay Preisinger, Fairway, Kansas; and Major Peter (Kylie) Preisinger, Newport, Rhode Island; six great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Rev. Preisinger served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II and was a graduate of Concordia Lutheran Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri in 1948.  He served Lutheran parishes for 41 years in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Cahokia, Illinois; Leavenworth, Kansas (St. Paul Lutheran Church 1962-1968) and Santa Clara, California.
Burial will be in Santa Clara, California July 30, 2019.
