Arlene Stovall, 94, of Lansing, Kansas died on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Arlene Stovall, 94, of Lansing, Kansas died on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.  Arlene was born in Glidden, Iowa the daughter of Thomas and Alma Conner, local farmers.

 Arlene Conner graduated from Nursing School in 1947 as a registered nurse.  She was initially recruited by a local Minister that had recently transferred to Herington, Kansas.  She was employed by The Herington Municipal Hospital, later taking a position as an OB nurse at Irwin Army Hospital at Fort Riley, Kansas where she retired after 20 years of service.

 Arlene was wed to Wayne Stovall of Herington, Kansas on July 1, 1948 in Glidden, Iowa. She is survived by her four children:  Thomas Stovall (wife-Rebecca) of Leavenworth, Kansas, Glen Stovall of Salina, Kansas, Allan Stovall of South Lake Tahoe, California and Marian Seymour of Topeka, Kansas. Surviving are six grandchildren:  Jami Gleason, Allen Stovall, Christy Negus, Katy and Alex Stovall, Kyle Ohlsen, Sarah Wall. Six great grandchildren:  Ryan and Zachary Gleason, Ashley and Chase Stovall, Jocelyn Negus, and Cory Wall, along with fifteen step great grandchildren.

 Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Stovall, nine siblings, daughter-in-law Peggy Stovall, son-in-law Sherman Seymour, grandson Dustin Stovall, and step grandson James Walle.

 Arlene was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church, active in all areas of the church and her community of Herington, Kansas.  Her heart was open and caring, always concerned about the welfare of others. Talented as an accomplished knitter and other handiwork Arlene shared her works with many.

 She relocated to Lansing, Kansas in 2007 and was a resident of Twin Oaks Independent Living until her passing.

 Mrs. Stovall was cremated and a memorial service is planned at First Presbyterian Church of Leavenworth, Kansas at 10 a.m., July 31, 2019. Arrangements by Davis Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, Kansas.
