Gerald “Jerry” D. Cott, 87, Leavenworth, passed away, Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019 at The University of Kansas Medical Center.

Gerald “Jerry” D. Cott, 87, Leavenworth, passed away, Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019 at The University of Kansas Medical Center. He was born Nov. 20, 1931 to Ora and Sylvia (Kelsey) Cott in Maple Hill, Kansas. Jerry was raised and spent much of his childhood in Willard, Kansas, “along the Kaw”.
After joining the Navy at 17 and serving four years, Jerry worked many years at the Fort Leavenworth Photo Lab. In 1974 Jerry started his business, Cott Photography and operated it until his retirement.
Jerry enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar, working on his farm and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his three children, Christy (Marty) Buff, Dirk (Jodi) Cott, Carrie (Patrick) Powell, ten grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, and his siblings, Roy Cott, Donald Cott, and Nancy Graybeal.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association in loving memory of Lorraine.
