Walter F. “Buster” Sharp Jr., 90, Leavenworth, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, at Twin Oaks Health and Rehab.

Walter F. “Buster” Sharp Jr., 90, Leavenworth, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, at Twin Oaks Health and Rehab. He was born May 4, 1929, in Leavenworth, the son of the late Walter F. Sr. and Jessie M. (Gray) Sharp.
On Feb 4. 1957, Buster married Jean M. Wilk. She preceded him in death Dec. 25, 1995. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Lee Sharp.
Buster is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Vornholt and Karen Brunk; a granddaughter, Cori Hendrickson (Clinton Litherland); a great-granddaughter, Isabella Hendrickson; his brother, William (Greta) Sharp; a sister-in-law, Eileen Wilk; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Buster was a lifelong farmer in Kickapoo, Kansas.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Kickapoo Township Fire Department.
