Karl Martin Lindsay, 91, Winchester, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019 at the F.W. Huston Memorial Hospital in Winchester.

Karl Martin Lindsay, 91, Winchester, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019 at the F.W. Huston Memorial Hospital in Winchester. He was born March 20, 1928, at Winchester, the son of Joseph Hunt and Goldie Mark Lindsay. He was a 1945 graduate of Winchester High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Karl retired in 1982 after working 30 years as a chemical lab technician for the Lockheed Corporation in California. He had formerly worked at the Hercules Powder and Ordnance in DeSoto and the Callery Chemical Co. in Lawrence.
He married Betty Louise Uhlrich (formerly of Leavenworth) on Oct. 1, 1954 in Cassville, Missouri, she preceded him in death on March 13, 2017. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Ann Zmeck, Harvest, Alabama, Karen Young, Grandview, Missouri, one sister, Vera Lou Miller, Lawrence, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dan Lindsay, five brothers, Willard Lindsay, William Lindsay, Howard “Mark” Lindsay, Joseph Lindsay and Paul Lindsay.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 at Barnett Family Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m., before service at the Funeral Home. Burial at Mt.
