Kathryn E. “Katie” Cline, 92, Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away peacefully, Saturday Oct. 19, 2019, in Leavenworth.
Kathryn E. “Katie” Cline, 92, Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away peacefully, Saturday Oct. 19, 2019, in Leavenworth. She was born April 10, 1927 in DeKalb, Missouri, to James W. Roberts and Mary Myrtle Linville.
On March 24, 1945, she married Robert Cline. He preceded her in death after 67 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Barbara Ann Cline; and an infant son, Kenneth Cline.
Kathryn is survived by a brother, James W. (Janet) Roberts, Kansas City, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Lila Ruth (Larry) Struble, Florida; six children, Sandra K. Wiehe, Tonganoxie, Robert (Bob) D. Cline, Basehor, Linda S. (Ron) Harrod, Leavenworth, Paula E. (Steve) Forge, Lansing, Ronald E. Cline, Leavenworth and Sharon L. Cline, Lansing; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In her early years, Kathryn worked at Montgomery Wards as a bookkeeper and at the old Hallmark Cards Plant in Leavenworth as a card assembler. Kathryn was a devoted homemaker for her family. She loved quilting, gardening, canning and doing word search puzzles. She also enjoyed attending Blue Grass festivals. Kathryn was known as the family historian.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Muncie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care.
