Margaret Elaine Lindsay, 95, Leavenworth, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019. She was born Dec. 8, 1923, near Elsmore, Kansas, to Delmur and Mabel (Trast) Ludlum.
On Nov. 26, 1947, Margaret married the love of her life, Robert Morris Lindsay. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister.
Margaret (Peg) travelled the world with her husband, a Major stationed for a time, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, with their two children. While their homes changed often, Peg’s love of God and her family remained fervent and constant. Peg was a people person with a servant’s heart. She spent every moment in her beloved city of Branson, Missouri, working at theatres, volunteering at local hospitals and at her church, Branson United Methodist.
Survivors include a sister, Colleen Reed (Ted), Peoria, Arizona; daughter, Desra Balock (David), Leavenworth, Kansas; son, Mark Lindsay, Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Robert Lindsay (Elizabeth), Kennewick, Washington, Ryan Balock (Annalise), Westchester, Illinois, Chris Lindsay (Daisy), Johnstown, Colorado, Matt Balock (Hannah), Kansas City, Missouri; and Stephanie Nash (Ryan), Leavenworth, Kansas; 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
A celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow with a small family vigil at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
