Clarence Dean Klaus, Jr., 56, Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away April 30, 2020 unexpectedly at his home.

He was born in Hays, Kansas, to Clarence D. Klaus, Sr. and Marva L. Klaus. Dean graduated from Lansing High School (1982) and went on to spend many years in the HVAC industry at Besel’s followed by customer service and deliveries for the Kansas County Store. Dean’s passions were his family, sports, classic cars, and animals. He was known for his love for others, his calm carefree disposition, an amazing sense of humor and his love for life. You couldn’t help but want to spend more time in his company. Dean was a beloved and well-known community member and family man. He is greatly loved and will be missed by all.

He is survived by the love of his life, Darlene (Morris) Klaus, three children, Sabrina Gibson, Aaron (Kayla) Walker, Tifanni Walker (Kaleb Grooms), three grandchildren, Aedan, Conner and Zoe, a sister, Tina (Fred) Murphy, brother, Les (Pam) Klaus and sister, Tammy (Harland) Russell. He has eight nieces, nephews, seven great-nieces, nephews and a host of life-long friends. Dean is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dawn Fontenot.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday, May 7, 2020 starting at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel at 531 Shawnee St, Leavenworth, KS, 66048.
