Ramona Peairs Budd Adams, 83 of Easton, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Liberty Memorial Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. Ramona was born on 4 May 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to Alvin Arthur Peairs Jr. and Norma Ora (Green) Peairs. She was adopted and raised by relatives Harlen Budd and his wife Laura (Justice) Budd as her birth mother died after childbirth due to complications. She graduated from Bexley High School in 1955 and went on to earn a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Ohio State University in Biochemistry. She worked for Nestle as a quantitative analysis chemist in the 60's and later worked on cancer research at the University of Texas Health Science in San Antonio, Texas in the 70's as well as being an Army wife for 21 years. She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Leavenworth, Kansas.

She also spent almost 60 years involved in the raising and showing of various dog breeds, including German Shepherds, Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Norwich Terriers and most recently Portuguese Pedangos. She was preceded in death by her parents, all four of her brothers, her husband William D. Adams and her daughter Caroline Sue Adams. She is survived by her three sisters, her sons, Andrew (Kim) and Michael (Kristen) Adams, along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the LAWS (Leavenworth Animal Welfare Society) or your local animal rescue groups. Ramona had a genuine love of animals and contributed regularly to various animal charities as well as helping out the local Council on Aging with money and pet supplies for senior citizens.
