Judith Luan Wiedower, 73, died June 5, 2020, with family by her side at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.
She was born Sept. 14, 1946, in Matador, Texas to Norman and Margaret Priest. Her father was in the United States Army, so Judy grew up traveling the world.
She graduated high school in 1964 from Robert E. Lee High School, Springfield, Virginia. Judy attended one year at Texas Women’s University, and graduated from Sam Houston State University, with a Bachelor in Business Administration degree in 1967. This is where she met Claude Wiedower and they married one day after Judy graduated. In May of this year they celebrated 53 years of loving marriage. Judy received her Masters of Arts in Management from Webster University in 1988.
Judy was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Leavenworth, PEO Chapter JM, a volunteer for Leavenworth Interfaith Community of Hope, and helped with Free Community Meals. She had numerous jobs in her life, but the one she is best known for is being the Director of Financial Aid from 1985-2011 at The University of Saint Mary.
Her interests included traveling with family and friends, reading, craft club, Bible study groups, and watching every sporting event of her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her husband, Claude Wiedower; mother, Margaret Priest (98); sister, Kathy Hennig and spouse, Larry; daughter, Dena Steen and spouse, Dan; son, Brian Wiedower and spouse, Nikki; grandchildren, Logan and Landon Steen and Sophie Wiedower.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, a private service will be held.
As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to:
