Darryl Duffin

Darryl Duffin, 78, passed away on November 5, 2021 at KU Medical center. He was born on MARCH 25, 1943 in Leavenworth, Kansas to John and Alice Duffin. On June 18, 1966, Darryl married Judy Harth at Immaculate Conception Church. He was predeceased by his parents and wife Judy.

Survivors include daughter Kelly (Bryan) Smith, son Mark (Dena) Duffin, brother Dennis (Theresa) Duffin, sister Joy (Chris) Elliott and grandchildren Rachel, Robert, McKenzie, Kobee, Vita and Crystal along with several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

Darryl attended Leavenworth public schools and graduated in the class of 1961. He attended Emporia State College, later began his working career and ultimately retired in 2008 from Ft. Leavenworth.

He was an avid sports fan and athlete his entire life, participating in LHS football and track. After his playing days, he began officiating high school and small college football, basketball and baseball in 1966 and retired in 2010…a lengthy career of 44 years. Darryl was exceptional son, brother, husband, father and friend to so many throughout his life. He had many endearing qualities…an extra big heart, kindness, compassion, caring soul, hard worker and a friendly smile for all.

A visitation was Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the funeral home at 5:00 - 8:00 pm with the rosary said at 7:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Casimir Catholic Church with Fr. Marianand Mendem officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
