Randall “Randy” Lynn Porter, 48, Leavenworth, passed away at his home on Aug. 14, 2020.
Randy was born the youngest of eight children on Jan. 19, 1972, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Robert and Ernestine Porter. Following his graduation from Leavenworth Senior High School, he began his career as a dining service employee at the Eisenhower VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life to serving our Veterans.
Randy’s renowned good nature and cheerful disposition kept everyone entertained during family gatherings. He was often the life of the party at many celebrations, bringing much laughter and joy to the lives he touched. He had a passion for music and was a football and basketball enthusiast. Randy cherished time spent with family and friends and was frequently known to host barbeques for them. He was a kind and caring soul and was recognized for his easy-going temperament and carefree spirit.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ernestine Porter; and his oldest sister, Patricia Smith.
Survivors include his son, Keondre Porter, Leavenworth, Kansas; Keondre's mother, Cicely Baker, Topeka, Kansas; three brothers, Robert Porter, Kansas City, Kansas; Ronald Porter, Wichita, Kansas; Richard Porter (Minh), Wichita, Kansas; three sisters, Alice Porter, Emporia, Kansas; Gloria Porter, Leavenworth, Kansas; Linda Vaught (Barry), Lawton, Oklahoma; and many nephews and nieces.
He will always be in our hearts and minds and will be forever missed.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020 at R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Burial services to follow at 11 a.m. at Mount Muncie Cemetery. Masks will be required.
