Terry Wayne Rush, 75, passed away peacefully on Sept. 12, 2020 at St Luke’s Hospice in Kansas City. Terry was born July 19, 1945 in Leavenworth to Harley Francis and Emma Marie (Kaeding) Rush. He graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1963 and had also attended St. Paul Lutheran School.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Charlie Falconer, and siblings, Elmer Rush, Verna Matzeder, Milton Rush and Dolores Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathy Rush, of the home; children: Julie A. Walker, Lawson, Missouri and Kimberly S. (Duane) Waldman, Gardner, Kansas; mother-in-law, Marilyn Falconer, Atchison, Kansas; grandchildren: Sean Eric (Emily) Wooley, Waukesha, Wisconsin; Kimberlyn (Michael) Utter, Polo, Missouri; Jamie (Kevin) Veach, Lawson, Missouri; Kayla Walker, Lawson, Missouri; Nathan Waldman, Lillian Waldman, Ryan Waldman and Jackson Waldman, all of Gardner, Kansas; 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Emily Steuernagel, Leavenworth and his nephew that was more, brother, Paul Rush, Merriam, Kansas. Terry is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Terry married Kathy Falconer in 1974 in Loveland, Colorado.
Terry’s greatest joy was his family and his goal in life was to take care of them and give everyone a happy fun life. He excelled at this goal.
Terry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Leavenworth, Kansas. He had a 35 year career with the U.S. Government at Fort Leavenworth.
He also worked part-time for bowling alleys most of his adult life and enjoyed the people there.
Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2101 10th Avenue, Leavenworth, from 9 to 11 a.m. with funeral beginning at 11 a.m. (masks required) officiated by Pastor Damian Snyder. The body has been cremated and a private interment will be at a later date at Mount Muncie Cemetery.
