Ethel Mae Lee, 91, Leavenworth, Kansas passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020.
Ethel was born April 8, 1929 in Waterproof, Louisiana the daughter of Phillip Haynes and Elnora Evans Haynes.
Ethel has two daughters, Barbara Blackwell, Anchorage, Alaska and Deborah Brown, Leavenworth, Kansas and one son, William Lee, Whitingham, Vermont, three brothers, Willie Haynes, Melvin Haynes, Cleveland, Ohio, and Jimmie Haynes, Houston, Texas, two sisters, Betty Brown and Emma Davis, both of Houston, Texas, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her long time companion, Thomas Rice, parents, Phillip and Elnora Haynes, four brothers, Phillip Haynes, Johnny Haynes, Huey Haynes and Louis Haynes and two sisters, Earlina Thomas and Masie Durden and her grandson, Thomas Brown.
Ethel was a Nurse’s Assistant at St. John Hospital for 18 years from 1967 to 1985 and then she retired. She volunteered at the Leavenworth Catholic Assistance Center for 19 years and was a member of Independent Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
