George L. Reilly, 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Providence Medical Center after several years of declining health.
George was born on September 9, 1951 to James E. and Mary N. (Whitlock) Reilly. He resided in the family home his entire life, where he and his brother Tim provided faithful care and companionship to their mother until her death at age 92 in 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James E. Reilly Jr.
George is survived by his brother Tim Reilly of the home, his sister Sue (David) Chartier and brother Mike (Judy) Reilly of Lansing, and his sister Kathy (Terry) Lowe of Basehor. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Debbie Reilly of Leavenworth and his uncle, Ray Whitlock, of Tracy, California. George will be remembered as a cherished uncle by all his nieces and nephews.
He attended Sacred Heart grade school and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1970. He also attended Kansas City Kansas Community College. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He retired after a long career in restaurant management in the Kansas City area, and touched many lives along the way. George was a devoted and loving son, and a dear brother and friend to all his siblings, who will miss him terribly. He was loved by all who knew him.
Due to Covid 19 precautions, face masks and social distancing will be utilized at services.
Visitation will be at Belden Larkin Funeral Home, 707 S 6th St., from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, with Rosary at 5 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 22, with Fr. Marianand Mendem officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. The burial service will be conducted by Fr. William McEvoy.
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart-St. Casimir Parish, or charity of choice.
