Angelique Marie Higgins Grady went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 14, 2021. She was born Aug. 23, 1966, to James F. Higgins and Janet A. Kelley Higgins in Leavenworth, Kansas. Angelique graduated from Seaman High School in Topeka, Kansas, and later earned an elementary education degree from Emporia State University. It was there that she met her husband of 33 years, Jon P. Grady. Together they raised their four children, Elizabeth, Christopher, Caleb and Audra. Angie devoted herself to children throughout her life. She stayed home to raise her children until they became school-aged, after which she worked at Lansing Elementary School teaching grades 1-3 for a decade.
Because she had an insatiable appetite for learning new disciplines, she went back to school and practiced massage therapy for the next decade. After retirement she devoted herself to her grandchildren, Lincoln, Troy, Ariana, Elaina and William. Throughout her life she remained a faithful servant of God, always ready to minister to those she knew. Angie tirelessly showered her children and grandchildren with unconditional love. Her warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. Her tenacity and unflinching desire to empower those around her will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
