Lavon Sievers, 94, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at Waterford Ladies Home, Blue Springs, Missouri. She was born March 18, 1926, in Bunch, Oklahoma, the daughter of Benjamin and Jewel (Palmer) Johnson. 

After high school, Lavon came to Kansas City and worked for Pratt & Whitney Airplane Company, as they manufactured aircraft for the war. She later worked for Russell-Stover Candy Company. 

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Leavenworth, Kansas. 

On Feb. 15, 1946, she married Rowland E. “Jack” Sievers. He preceded her in death. Other survivors include her daughter, Sue Edmondson and husband Kent, Blue Springs, Missouri, her son, Douglas Sievers, Leavenworth, Kansas, three grandchildren, Christopher Edmondson and wife Jen, Timothy Edmondson and wife Kristy, Andrew Edmondson and wife Gaby, along with three great-grandchildren, Eliana, Riley and Tyler Edmondson. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. 

Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. Meyers Funeral Chapel, Blue Springs, Missouri, has been entrusted with her care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Community Services League of Blue Springs, 200 SW 10th St., Blue Springs, MO, 64015.
