To the editor:
In the spring of 1948, the Army baseball team traveled from West Point to Yale University for a game. Our team occupied the dugout along the first base line. When Yale took their pre-game infield practice, it was very obvious that their guy at first base was very good and showed that he was a talented athlete. He was lean, lanky and left-handed – and their team captain.
Yale won the game 8-0.
The Yale first baseman was George H.W. Bush.
