To the editor:

I am amazed at some of the Leavenworth Times columnists. They speak as if they are an authority. Do they fact check their statements? Do you fact check their statements? I find most of the statements to be their opinion. Sure, we can object to their statements, but we do not hold the same position that they have in your paper. We speak to the paper’s audience via letters to the editor, which is tucked in a corner of the layout of your paper, thus demonstrating that our opinion is not weighed with the same importance of your columnists. You have columnists that do not share opinions which is great but do you fact check when the columnist states erroneous information? I will state that if I write a letter to the paper, I fact check it before I even put pen to paper. You may see it differently and I am willing to listen.
