Five area football players were announced as selections to the Kansas Football Coaches Association All-State teams. Members of the KFBCA gathered over the weekend to vote on the annual list of players. The teams are comprised of more than 150 seniors and one coach per classification across 1A-6A.

Lansing’s Konner McQuillan and Leavenworth’s Austin Shoffner were named to the 5A All-State team.

McQuillan was the only player on all six classifications to make the list as “athlete” for his position. Shoffner made the list as a defensive lineman.

The Basehor-Linwood Bobcats had defensive back Kyle Alcanter and linebacker Jace Friesen named to the 4A team on defense.

The Pleasant Ridge Rams had linebacker Hunter Wagner named to the defense on the 2A All-State team.
