Friday’s weather affected local sports around the area.
Lansing High School was scheduled to travel to De Soto on Friday for basketball. The game has now been rescheduled to next Thursday. Tipoff is still scheduled for 5:30 p.m. for the girls and 7 p.m. for the boys. The Lions were also set to host the Leavenworth Pioneers on Saturday. The game has now been rescheduled to Monday. Basehor-Linwood boys’ basketball was scheduled to take on Derby in the 810 Varsity Sunflower Showcase Saturday but it was canceled. The game will not be made up.
The weather also canceled Saturday’s Ralph Matzeder Special Olympics Basketball Tournament at Leavenworth High School. Vicki Lozenski, local coordinator of the Leavenworth County Special Olympics program and the tournament director, said she is not sure if the tournament will be rescheduled. The Leavenworth Times will post information about a potential rescheduling if announced.
The Saint Mary softball doubleheader against Concordia University scheduled for Saturday has been delayed to Feb. 27. The other scheduled events for Saint Mary athletics are still scheduled as of the time of writing.
