Local recreation basketball continued last Wednesday with two games.
Kansas Elite improved their record to 7-2 with their 94-73 win over Leavenworth Legends.
Harry Burton led Kansas Elite with 27 points. Jeremie Seymore had 22, Elijah Bean scored 18 and Curtis Brown had 17. Burton’s performance moved him up to ninth in career 3-pointers with 82. Seymore moved up in career points (31st) and 3-pointers (19th).
Da’Jaun Sweet led Leavenworth Legends with 28 points. Karlos Campbell had 25 and Edward Reed scored 10. Campbell is now tied for 29th in career 3-pointers with 31.
The second game of the night saw Anytime Fitness #1 improve to 8-1 in their 73-70 win over Skyhookers, who fell to 0-9.
Matt Warner led Anytime Fitness #1 with 18 points. L.T. Lee had 17, Jordan Dunham had 14, Tyler Jordan scored 13 and Jasper Sanders had 11.
Justin Crutchfield led Skyhookers with a 27. Trent Peter had 12 and Ellison Edmonds scored 10. Edmonds moved up to 29th in career points with 285. Peter is now tied for fifth in career 3-pointers with 101. Tony Williams also moved up on the career scoring list. Williams is now 15th with 456 points.
The night was supposed to start with Anytime Fitness #2 facing M&M Specialty Services but Anytime Fitness #2 had to forfeit. M&M Specialty Services improved to 6-4. Anytime Fitness #2 fell to 4-5.
Seymore is the season scoring leader with 238 points and 3-pointers with 43. Sweet is second in scoring with 208. Brad Heim of Buckets is second in 3-pointers with 36.
The regular season comes to a close Wednesday night with three scheduled games. Skyhookers (0-9) and Buckets (7-2) will play at 6:30 p.m. Kansas Elite (7-2) and Anytime Fitness #2 (4-5) face off at 7:30 p.m. The night will end with Anytime Fitness #1 (8-1) and Leavenworth Legends (1-8) playing at 8:30 p.m.
