The United Kansas Conference recently announced its 2019 all-conference selections in baseball and soccer.
In baseball, Shawnee Heights snagged the most selections with nine. The team also had the player of the year, Tyce Brown, and the coach of the year, Ryan Schmidt.
Basehor-Linwood had the second-most selections with seven.
Chase Torkelson, Hardy Bergman and Chandler Miller were named to the first team. Carter Bergman, Jackson Herbel, Matthew McKnight and Wyatt Wagner were all honorable mentions.
Lansing and De Soto each had six selections.
For the Lions, Bryce Turner, Caleb Adams and Peyton Basler were all named to the first team. Dakota Sill, Dylan McLain and Jayden Raymond received second-team honors.
Leavenworth had four selections. Robert McKinley was named to the first team, Steele Sadler made second team and the honorable mentions were J.W. Hickman and Kruz Wahwahsuck.
Turner had one selection.
De Soto was the leader in girls’ soccer. The Wildcats had 11 selections to the all-conference team. Mackenzie Mohl and Jordan Zade of De Soto were also the co-players of the year and De Soto coach Jesse Smith was the coach of the year.
Leavenworth had eight selections.
Allie Lodge and Alexis Cole were named to the first team. Kaylee Shaw got second-team honors. Brooke Collins, Maja Lager, Sadie Dipman, Sydney Howell and Mia Kensinger were honorable mentions.
Shawnee Heights had five. Basehor-Linwood, Lansing and Turner all had four selections each.
Basehor-Linwood’s Adell Gore, Taylor Theno, Teigan Capper and Alyssa Richardson were named to the second team.
Jenna McClain, Alyssa Keller and McKensey Kell of Lansing were named to the second team and Bailey Campbell was an honorable mention.
