Master Deputies Zach Phillips and Russell Klepees of the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office work at setting up a metal detector Tuesday at the south entrance to the Leavenworth County Courthouse. Starting Wednesday, only two entrances to the courthouse will be open to the public. Members of the public will have to pass through metal detectors, and X-ray machines may be used to check bags. Sheriff Andy Dedeke said no weapons, including pocketknives, will be permitted in the building.
