Shawnee County Election Office will have voter registration drive at library for November election

The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library is hosting a voter registration drive on Sept. 24-26 and Oct. 8-10.

The Shawnee County Election Office is having a voter registration drive at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library in advance of the upcoming voter registration deadline of Tuesday, Oct. 12. 

The election office will be at the library on the following dates and times:

Friday, Sept. 24: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 25: 9 a.m.-5:45 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 26: Noon-6 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 8: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 9: 9 a.m.-5:45 p.m. 

Sunday, Oct. 10: Noon-6 p.m.

The election commissioner encourages voters to ensure their voter registration is current before the general election registration deadline. 

Advance voting in person at the Shawnee County Election Office will start Monday, October 18th. The Election Office will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. for advance voting.

The Nov. 2 general election is for all Shawnee County residents to elect local city and school board officials, as well as drainage and improvement district directors.

Anyone with questions concerning their voter registration status may call the Shawnee County Election Office at (785) 251-5900. Voters with special needs who require assistance should also call the election office.
