Our Statehouse team talks with Gov. Laura Kelly to preview the 2021 legislative session

Andrew Bahl
Topeka Capital-Journal
Gov. Laura Kelly talks with The Capital-Journal Wednesday from her office in the Statehouse.

Legislators are back in business in Topeka, with a whole host of issues to work through in the 2021 legislative session.

Gov. Laura Kelly, of course, has her own ideas for what policies should be enacted in the coming months and our Statehouse bureau, Andrew Bahl and Titus Wu, sit down with her to hear what she has in mind.

Some of those policies might become law but Republican legislators generally have other ideas for what they want to pursue in the coming months, with issues ranging from abortion to tax policy on the mind of legislative leaders.

Andrew and Titus walk you through their interview with the governor and explain how the changing dynamics of the 2021 session will impact the lives of Kansans.

Like what you hear? Good — our two hosts tease their upcoming podcast venture, coming to Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Google Play on Feb. 1.
