Judith “Judy” Len Wesley, age 84, died Thursday, March 31st, 2022 in her Home at Hillcrest Manor in Leavenworth, Kansas after about a year long cancer battle. She almost made it to her 85th Birthday (Monday, April 4th, 2022)… the same day that her Favorite Team The KU Jayhawks Won the NCAA Basketball Championship! Many of her Friends & Family have expressed the thought that Mom was at least Cheering KU on from Heaven… If not directly Interceding! Visitation & Funeral Services will be at Davis Funeral Chapel of Leavenworth, Kansas, Saturday, April 9th, 2022. Visitation 3 to 4 pm, and Funeral 4 to 5 pm, with a special reception following for Family & Family of the Heart. Due to her decision to be cremated, her Urn Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens will be at a later date.
Since both she and her husband died of cancer, and they felt strongly about the success of Cancer Treatment Centers of America, the family suggests C.T.C.A. for any Donation Memorials (and Thank You!)
Judy was born April 4th, 1937, in Kansas City, Ks. She was the baby of the family of Harry E. VanFossen and Lilah Beverly VanFossen, and she was Little Sister to Caroline. Judy graduated from Washington High School in 1955, and attended the University of Kansas, instilling in her a life long passion as a Super-Fan of KU especially Basketball. September 19, 1958, she was united in marriage to Roger Lee Wesley. They had three children; Mark, Scott, & Eric in the early years of their 44 years together. Judy was preceded in death by her husband Roger, sons Mark & Eric, her parents, & her sister, Caroline Rand. She retired in 1995, as Office Administrator, in Pasadena, TX, and moved to Easton, KS in 1996, where she and Roger built their “dream home.” She is survived by her son, Scott, and many nieces and nephews. A life-long member of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Judy was an active and dedicated member at the First Christian Church of Leavenworth for most of the past 2 decades as well as a Member of Eastern Star. The Family would like to express appreciation for the Love and Prayers for her by so many people from her church, and community. There are FAR too many people to be able to mention them all here — and we would likely leave someone off the list that would be very deserving… but we especially wish to thank Vickie Stewart & Sue Scott, and Ernie & Cheri Allen!
Condolences may be left on Judy’s online guestbook at www.davisfuneralchapelinc.com.
