Ethelene Dropkin, 91, of Baldwin City, Kan., formerly of Leavenworth, passed away on September 19, 2022.

Born Agnes Ethelene Wooley on December 28, 1930, and raised in Fancy Farm, Ky., she was the daughter of Silas Taylor Wooley and Agnes Bridget (Hayden) Wooley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin D. Dropkin, her brothers Leon Wooley, Dillard Wooley, and George Wooley, her sisters Lavola Peyton and Theresa Igo, and her daughters Regina Box and Loren Winters Grace.

Ethelene is survived by her children Ernest Knight, Jr. (Debbie) of Camdenton, Mo., Alan Knight (Michelle) of Leavenworth, Karen Knight (Jeanette) of New Castle, Okla., James Knight (Eva) of Leavenworth, Jennifer Dropkin of Lawrence, Elizabeth Smyth (Wade) of Baldwin City, Sara Lynch (Pat) of DeSoto, and David Dropkin (Pam) of Cabot, Ark.; by her sisters Linda Rose Hipsley (Donald) of Huntingtown, Md., and Charlotte Rantis (George) of Westchester, Ill.; and by numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of Baldwin Healthcare & Rehab Center for the care they gave to Ethelene in her final days.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 23, 2022, from Noon to 1 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at Mount Zion Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
