It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Dwain Skelton on September 17, 2022, at the age of 85, in hospice care in Kansas City, Mo. Dwain was a beloved husband, dad, brother, uncle, pawpaw and great-pawpaw who served his Lord and country faithfully. Dwain was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Betty Skelton, his parents Eli and Faye Skelton and 10 siblings. He is survived by his brother Pierson; children: Janey
(Wayne) Reno, J.D. (Jamie) Skelton, Johnny (Leslie) Skelton and grandchildren: Jeremy (Tabitha), Apryl (Nate), Heather (Ritesh), Sherry (Ryan), Katrina (Bobby), Benjamin (Lacy), and Michelle; Also his great-grandchildren: Mitchell, Karissa, Robby, Violet, Kort, Henry, Bailey, Jack, Evie, Ivy, Sophia, and Mathyus. After high school he joined the Army and served in Germany. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Kansas Air National Guard and served in South Korea with the 127th Tactical Fighter Squadron. Dwain later worked for the Department of the Army where he served for over a decade. He eventually retired from the Air Force as a Major. Dwain was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed teaching Bible classes and preaching God’s word. For funeral service information, please contact any family member.
