Anadell Potts left this earth on December 21, 2022, at the age of 88.
Anadell was born in Ottawa, Kan. to Rolla and Dorothy Hagerty, the third of six daughters. After graduating high school, she met and married William Medlen with whom she raised three children in Lawrence, Kan. This marriage ended in divorce.
Through her involvement in Parents Without Partners, she met and married Donald Potts in 1974 and with Don’s two daughters and two sons, created a blended family whose loving bonds remain today. Anadell worked for Ford Motor Company for over 40 years beginning at John Haddock Ford in Lawrence and concluding at Zeck Ford in Leavenworth, where she was the Office Manager for many years. She was an active person and enjoyed bowling and playing bunco with her friends. She donated her time to the Leavenworth Council on Aging and was active in the American Business Women’s Association.
Anadell and Don loved to travel and made a yearly trek to Aruba where they made lifelong friends. She was a wonderful embroiderer and was proud of the Christmas stockings she sewed for all the new grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.
Mom is preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, sons Michael Medlen and Wesley Potts, son-inlaw Freddie Price, grandson Tom Price and granddaughter Megan Potts. She was also preceded in death by her sisters June Woods, Jane Craig, Sue Skoog, Sandy Fraser, and Kathy Goddard.
Anadell is survived by her children Roxanne Medlen (Matt Mithuen), Nancy Fay (John), Linda Price, Ronald Potts (Cheryl), Sandy Bergman, and Cheryl Medlen, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and Remembrance Services have been scheduled for April 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Pilgrim Community Church, 500 Arch St., Leavenworth. Burial will be at Ft. Leavenworth.
