Veterans cemetery conducts ‘Spirit of ’45’ commemoration

A “Spirit of ‘45” ceremony was held Wednesday at the Leavenworth National Cemetery commemorating the 80th anniversary of President Truman’s announcement of the unconditional surrender of Imperial Japan, marking the end of World War II. About a dozen members of the Patriot Guard Riders attended the event, which included laying a commemorative wreath.
