Wrestling in the state tournament for the first time last winter, Jacqueline Goodman and Avari Johnson placed fifth and sixth, respectively. In their second appearance this Wednesday and Thursday at Hartman Arena in Park City, the Leavenworth juniors are ready to move even higher up the podium.

Leavenworth teacher selected for prestigious fellowship

Ruthie Vega, an Earl Lawson Early Education Center STEM and kindergarten teacher, has been selected for Cosmosphere’s 2023 LaunchLearning Fellowship, an honor which comes with over $800 in free resources teachers can share with their school and district. The 2023 class of LaunchLearning Fellows includes 45 teachers from around the state.

The importance of conservation wildlife reports

By now many of you may be receiving surveys about the past hunting season. Some consider filling out these reports annoying while others realize the importance of this input. Conservation organizations can not be everywhere. Reports received by the average hunter or angler give them an insight of the current status of a certain species. For example, did you catch bass from a certain lake? What sizes were they?
