Senior residents enjoy pre-Valentine’s Day celebration

Members of Xi Delta Nu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi recently held a special pre-Valentine’s Day celebration for the residents of Basehor’s Credo Senior Living facility. Members got together two weeks ago and put together goodie bags and also made special cards for the residents.

Let’s promote the treasure that is downtown Leavenworth

I am pretty sure that I counted at least 30 places in planters along Delaware in downtown Leavenworth in which there could be some form of art, such as statuary and dynamic art pieces. Presently, the Master Gardeners do a fantastic job every year of planting and maintaining flower gardens in the planters which add a great deal of color and interest to the downtown.

Super Bowl field turns into a super slip and slide

The field at State Farm Stadium turned into a Super Bowl slip and slide. With the surface seeming to get worse as the night wore on, players from both teams had a hard time keeping their footing on Sunday, leading several to change their cleats during a game that ended with the Kansas City Chiefs’ dramatic 38-35 comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Leavenworth board to decide on school cancelation

While some schools had already announced classes would be canceled Wednesday, Leavenworth’s superintendent said he was leaving the decision to the school board. A parade being called the Chiefs Kingdom Champions Parade is scheduled for Wednesday to celebrate Sunday’s Super Bowl win by the Kansas City Chiefs.
