World War II tank unit should be remembered

February is Black History Month, and as the regular readers of my column know for the past several years, I have always had a column in this month about some important contribution Black Americans made in the history of the U.S. military.

Mary Jane Grinter, 85, Lawrence, Kan., passed away Friday January 27, 2023, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. A celebration of life will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
