The Leavenworth County Commission has reconvened and reorganized with the addition of a new Chairwoman Commissioner Vicky Kaaz from Leavenworth. Kaaz was elected unanimously and becomes the first woman in the history of the county to serve as Commission chair.
A Lansing Boy Scout troop will be conducting an “anti- campout” next month in the Lansing Activity Center. Council members voted 5-0 to approve the request made by Matthew Blome with Lansing Boy Scout Troop 165 to use the center from 3 p.m.
When they met this week, Leavenworth city commissioners approved the placement of license plate reader cameras at five intersections in the city. The cameras were requested by the Leavenworth Police Department.
The United Way of Leavenworth County is accepting applications from community service organizations to become member agencies. Each year, United Way’s Board of Directors makes decisions regarding which agencies and projects to support in the upcoming campaign year, according to a news release.
