Occupant taken to hospital after house fire

One person was taken to the hospital following a fire over the weekend at a Leavenworth residence, a Fire Department official. Leavenworth Fire Marshal Andy Brooks said he does not believe the person was injured in the fire, but he was taken to the hospital for a precautionary evaluation.

The death toll from the dance hall massacre blamed on a 72-year-old gunman has risen to 11 after one of the 10 people who were wounded died. The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services said Monday that one of the four people being treated at the LA County-USC Medical Center has died of gunshot wounds.

Winter Storm expected tonight

A winter storm may produce as much as two inches of snow as it passes through the area tonight and Wednesday morning. Leavenworth County Emergency Management Director Chuck Magaha said between a trace and two inches of snow may be possible.
